Arrival in Montevideo. Uruguay’s capital is a city of contrasts with its well conserved historical buildings on the one side and a lot of modern buildings on the other. Remaining day at
leisure to explore the coastal city and to discover charming corners, street markets and friendly people.

Explore the historical city of Montevideo in a funny way, by taking a bike. This simple mode of transport makes the city tour unique. Starting at the pier you will cycle the maze of shadowed streets, find yourself at Constitution Square, the oldest plaza in Montevideo and home to the beautiful Metropolitan Cathedral, continue cycling towards the Palermo district and along the coast to Pittamiglio House. Stop at Punta Carretas Lighthouse for making a picture. Cycle back to the pier passing the old Citadel Gate and Salvo Palace.

Excursion to Estancia Finca Piedra located in the Province of San Jose at the foot of the Sierras of Mahoma. After visiting the estancia you will get ready for a tour on a mountain bike through the area. Enjoy a superb lunch before you deep into activities such as biking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing.
Return to Montevideo in the afternoon.

Drive in public bus to Punta del Este (without guide). Hop on a bike for an enjoyable and scenic ride, showcasing the highlights of this resort city. Stop for photos at the old lighthouse, cruise past Candelaria Church and other highlights of Punta del Este, including the beautiful neighborhood of San Rafael and stunning Brava Beach, where you can pose in front of the city’s unique sculpture, La Mano, or The Hand of Sculptor Mario Irarrázabal.

Day at leisure to explore the city on your own. On optional basis you can visit the Ralli museum and Casa Pueblo: visit the Museum of Contemporary Art with its fine collection of paintings and sculptures by noted Latin American artists, and several pieces by Salvador Dali on permanent display. Continue along the home and atelier of internationally renowned artist, Carlos Paez Vilaró. The dazzling white complex, resembling Spanish-Moroccan architecture, is situated on a rocky bluff overlooking the ocean. Along the picturesque coastal road you will return to the pier.

When you arrive at the village of Valizas you will start your 4h trekking across amazing sand dunes to Cabo Polonio with the largest colonies of sea lions of South America. This marvelous trekking will take you from the middle of the desert to experiencing breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. After lunch make a ride in 4WD vehicles before you return to Punta del Este.

Drive in public bus (without guide) to Montevideo. Free time for another walk along the waterfront promenade to or stroll through the narrow alleys of the old town.

Transfer to the airport of Montevideo for your flight back home (or start your extension tour).
