Chile, Bolivia, Peru - Salt Flats & Andean Mountains

Arrival in Santiago de Chile, one of the most modern cities in whole South America.

City tour inclusive visit of the cathedral and  trip up Cerro San Cristobal for a panoramic view at the city and its surroundings. Optional excursion to winery Undurraga with wine tasting.

Flight to Calama and transfer to the oasis village of San Pedro de Atacama. After a city walk through the town continue to the Moon Valley for Sunset.

Day at leisure. On an optional excursion (seat-in) you can visit the Salar de Atacama, the town of Toconao and the lagoons of Miscanti & Meñiques.

Transfer from San Pedro to the border of Chile and Bolivia (Hito Cajon) and continue to Ojo de Perdiz. On the way you visit the Red and Green lagoon and see geysers and rock formations.

Drive through the Siloli desert to reach the viewpoint on volcano Ollagüe. Continue via Uyuni to Colchani and visit of the famous railway cemetery.

Visit Incahuasi, a former island in the middle of the salt lake. Across the salt lake you will reach the Galaxi caves, underwater caves build by volcanic eruptions.   

Transfer to the airport and flight to La Paz.

Half day city tour in La Paz. At El Alto you will take the cableway and enjoy the view of the city in the basin. At the end of the tour you will visit the Moon Valleys, a unique area with bizarre geological formations.

Transfer to Copacabana. Excursion by catamaran to the biggest island of the lake, Isla del Sol (Island  of the Sun) inclusive visit of the cultural museum in Challa, participation on the shamans ceremony of „pago a la tierra“ and transfer in a typical reef boat. Transfer to Puno. 

Full day panoramic drive to Cusco (seat-in). On the way visit Andahuaylillas with its Sistine Chapel of America, the temple of Wiracocha in Racchi and Puka Pukara inclusive lunch.

Transfer to the Sacred Valley. Visit of the Animal Shelter „Santuario Cochahuasi Wasi“ and the Pisac market.

Visit to Machu Picchu. This “Lost City” of the Incas lay hidden from the world in dense jungle covered mountains until 1911 and is one of the world’s archaeological jewels. Explore the mystery of this awe-inspiring place. Return to Cusco.

City tour of Cusco. The contrasts of indigenous styles and the modern western world give this city its rare beauty. Visit to some ruins around Cusco, e.g. Sacsayhuaman.

Day at leisure.

Flight to Lima. City tour including San Francisco Convent and Larco Herrera Museum, which houses the world’s largest private collection of Peruvian Pre-Columbian Art. End of the tour and return flight.
