CURRENT INFORMATION

In the face of the rainfalls and landslides that affect some parts of Peru and are caused by the El Niño phenomenon, PROMPERU, the national tourism committee, published the following announcement:

The tourist route in the South of Peru, including Cusco, Arequipa, Puno and Madre Dios, is not affected; neither are the north-eastern regions like San Martin, Amazon and Loreto. Hotels, touristic institutions, airports and sights in these areas operate normally.

Also the sights in the capital Lima remain open and can be visited.

The Northern region, including the Moche route in Libertad and Lambayeque, the beaches of Piura and Tumbes as well as the mountain area of Ancash are affected by the rainfalls. The government works together with the communities to support aggrieved parties, repair roads and avoid further incidents.
