Day Routing
01 Quito

Arrival to Quito, situated in a circle of mountainous peaks of the Andes. The city has one of the most    magnificent settings in the world.   

02 Quito

Sightseeing tour exploring the colorful history of  colonial Quito visiting the Independence Square, the Bishops Palace, as well as the Cathedral and the church of La Compañia, including the visit of Equatorial Line Monument called „Mitad del Mundo“, where the southern and northern hemispheres meet. In the afternoon guests have a delicious chocolate tasting with the Ecuadorian organic chocolate producer Pacari. For dinner they enjoy a buffet of Ecuadorian cuisine at a local restaurant.

03 Quito - Otavalo

Guests will be transferred to Otavalo. The road descends into the spectacular same-time arid and fertile Guayllabamba gorge and village and the snow caped Cayambe. In Otavalo awaits guests the famous artisanal handicraft market, offering a tremendous variety of designs in ponchos and other mostly woolen clothing items. In this typical indigenous city families wear colorful clothes and speak Quechua as their first tongue. Make today´s lunch a unique experience and taste one of the most traditional dishes in this region, the famous “cuy” or guinea pig. Continue to Cotacachi, Ecuador’s center of leatherworks. 

04 Otavalo - Quito

Guests visit a Kichwa family in Samyanuy, taking a  lesson to cook typical Andean meals made with natural products coming from the Kichwa speaking region around Otavalo. This includes a main course, side dishes, dessert and drinks in an open kitchen that shares a mix of the ancestral and the modern. Once arrived in Quito guests enjoy a delicious farewell dinner in a typical restaurant.
